During the Meeting, the Member States presented their National Implementation Programmes, depicting further actions to reduce eutrophication and the input of hazardous substances, so as to reach the objectives of the Baltic Sea Action Plan. The Member States also agreed on the elaboration of their National Implementation Programmes by 2011, in order to halt the biodiversity decline, to ensure environmentally safe maritime activities and response capacity, and increase public awareness.
